Fall Semester Updates

As the fall 2019 semester quickly approaches, Temple University Center City (TUCC) is enjoying several exciting changes and improvements to campus.

“After receiving some helpful feedback from our Spring Survey, we have started to address many concerns of current students and faculty,” said William Parshall, Director of Temple University Center City. “Our goal is to ensure that our students and faculty are able to learn and work in a safe, comfortable environment. We have completed some projects this summer and plan to continue our improvements during the coming months.”

TUCC has a new home on the Web. Visit to learn about upcoming events and information sessions for academic programs offered at TUCC. The site also includes news, important campus announcements, updated parking information and more.

To further ensure safety on campus,  for credit students, faculty and staff will now be required to scan or tap their TUID so that staff may verify their identity.

“This feature combines safety and convenience to provide quick access to the campus and fortified security for all,” said Parshall. “This system is already in use in many classroom buildings on Main Campus and represents a combined effort by Campus Security, Computer Services, Facilities Management and TUCC.”

Non-credit students will continue to use their ID cards for building entry. Temple Alumni are encouraged to get their Alumni ID cards at Temple Center City. Using this new photo card will allow alumni visitors to conveniently access the computer lab. Alumni who get their cards printed at TUCC may additionally  receive a 15 percent discount on Temple gear at the Barnes and Noble bookstore on the first floor of the building.

Need to charge up your electronics? TUCC has installed a power bank kiosk in the student technology center. These portable battery packs allow students to charge their laptops or tablets. Using a valid Temple ID to gain access, the charging unit is ready for use anywhere on campus for up to five hours.
